Dragons Den Lesson – iFoods.tv

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Thanks for visiting again, why not get my Blog updates via Twitter?
Thanks! Eoin

I watch Dragon’s Den regularly and on August 18th (Dragons Den), I saw and Niall Harbison and Sean Fee asking for a £100,000 investment from the “Dragon’s” in return for a 10% stake in the company, iFoods.tv .

They did very well, fair play to them, I have only seen a few pitches with such confidence in the face of the “Dragon’s” until the website called iFood.tv was mentioned, that’s iFoods.tv, without the “s”.

In their defence …

iFoods.tv was purchased on March 25th 2007 and went live May 2007 (web.archive.org), and had a working website up and running from day one …

while the competitor, iFood.tv, purchased their domain name on May 9th 2006, they managed to get a holding page up in April 2007, but didn’t get a Live website up until August 2007 (web.archive.org).

I do have to wonder who was advising Niall and Sean on Internet Marketing, because a Domain name search would have found the iFood.tv

From reading their blog, the two guys are doing well, getting lots of new traffic and are reasonable happy with result. I even saw them on TV3 during the week.

Despite the domain name mistake, I think these guys will go far, because they have what it takes and are nearly fanatical about the business. Well done to both of you!

Be sure to visit iFoods.tv and join up.
