My Internet Marketing Plan For 2009

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Thanks for visiting again, why not get my Blog updates via Twitter?
Thanks! Eoin

For 2009, I’m keeping it simple, so that my Internet Marketing plan is easy to implement and I can monitor the results.

Video

Video is a must for 2009.

This will be my main communication tool in 2009, it’s far easy to show people what to do than try to write about it.
I have everything ready to start using video and I would have started today, but I’ve the Flu, so I’ve decided to wait until I sound human again.

Keyword Research

I spent a lot of time (and money) learning advanced Keyword Research skills in 2008, so they will be another big part of my Internet marketing plan.

I’ll be doing Keyword Research for Video, Blog posts, SEO, Adwords and some deep long tail Keyword Research.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

This year, SEO has dropped from my number 1 slot to number 3, mainly due to the fact that it’s now far easier to do, when the correct Keyword Research has been done.

My Blog

Yes, my Blog is going to be a major part of my Internet marketing plan

Social Networking

I’m a member of more that 50 social networks and this year I’ll start to get active in the social networks that I’ve identified are worth my time.

Pay Per Click Advertising

I’ll be doing more pay per click advertising this year, using Google Adwords™ and a few more that are reportedly getting good results.

It’s time to use the advance pay per click advertising skills I learned in 2008.

That’s it, nice and simple. Each of these main headings have many elements to them and I’ll gradually go into more detail about them in the next few months.
Keeping it simple has allowed me to plan my marketing to fit into my week very nicely.

I’ll be posting about what I’m doing as I progress, so make sure you are getting my updates.

Internet Business Building – Part 1

Monday, December 29th, 2008

I’ve finally finished my marketing plan for 2009 and before I start posting about it, I need to update my progress so far, so that no one misses out on information.

Note: I’ll be adding all my Internet Business Building posts to my “Categories”, (on the right side of screen), under the category Internet Business Building, so clicking on that will list all of my Internet Business Building posts.

OK, to get started with your Internet Business you need;

  1. A researched idea for your business
  2. A Domain Name, (which is basically your business address on the Internet)
  3. A Hosting account. (To store your web pages etc.)
  4. Software to build your web pages.
  5. Software to build your mailing List

1. A researched idea for your business

I’ve already researched my business idea, I’m going to pass on my Internet Business knowledge to people interested in starting an online business.

If you don’t have a business idea yet, be sure to sign up for my updates, as I will be covering how to research Internet business ideas and what Internet business work.

2. A Domain Name

As you can see, I already have my domain name, which is my own name, and I suggest that you do the same.
Even if you decide later that a different domain name is better, you can use this to get to grips with everything.

Some rules for Domain names.

  • Always get a .com domain name.
  • Never use a dash, (-) in your domain name
  • If yourname .com is taken, get a domain name with another word included, like yournameblog .com

3. A Hosting account

A hosting account is needed to store your web pages, images etc., and no matter what business you are going to be starting, a blog is a nessassity.

Therefore is is best to use a web hosting company that uses software called cPanel, to manage your hosting, as cPanel makes it easy to install a blog, make e-mail addresses and makes hosting your business far easier.

I’ve been using HostGator for many years and I highly recommend them.

4. Software to build your web pages

If I was building web pages, I’d need software like Dreamweaver or NVU, but I would recommend that you use Blog software called Wordpress.

The main reasons for this is that Wordpress is far easier to learn to use, it’s easy to use and the search engines seem to like it.

If you follow my advice, and get hosting that uses cPanel, installing Wordpress is as simple as a few click of your mouse.
I’ll be making a video of how to install Wordpress using cPanel, so if you are having problems, just wait for the video.

5. Software to build your mailing List

By far, the best software to use to build your mailing list in Aweber. The web site actually walkes you throught the process, so you can easily be set up in a few hours.

So there you have it, this is where I am at the moment, and I’m just about to start to get visitors (generate traffic) to my Blog.

Any questions?

Alex Jeffreys Coaching – Module 4

Friday, December 19th, 2008

Module 4 0f Alex Jeffreys Coaching was at 6 PM EST yesterday, 11 PM my time, so it was another long night, but well worth the sleep that was sacrificed.

Alex emphasized that we needed to take the advice he was giving us and not ignore it as “too simple” or “that won’t work” … they will work … because they have worked for him and plenty of others.

We covered getting Blogs set up right and getting together to help any students that are having problems with their Blog, or any of the other steps needed to get up to date.

We also covered some YouTube basics and I learned a few stratagies I didn’t know before.

Twitter was looked at again, to get anyone new to Twitter up to speed … and while we’re on the subject, if you’re not following me on Twitter … Why Not?
I’ll be posting information there also, as I find it, that may not get to my blog.

Alex also launched a competition aimed at getting us to implement what we have learned so far, to attract traffic from people interested in what we are doing and an added incentive, he’s put up a prize of $1,000 …

…. so I’ll be doing some work over the next few days and during the Christmas holidays to compete for that prize.
